The contest „Riga Food” 2012 took place among 5 groups of milk products – pasteurized milk, sour cream, unripened sweet milk cheese and semi-hard cheese of „Russian” and „Holland” sorts. This year 12 milk processing companies, presenting 35 samples of their production, participated in the contest for the title of the best product’s name, medals, certificates and cash prizes.

In the contest of pasteurized milk the best pasteurized milk with 2,0–2,9% fat produced in Latvia was determined. AS „Latgales piens” obtained the 1-st place, gold medal of international exhibition „Riga Food” 2012, cash prize of 70 Ls and certificate of merit for 2,0% fat milk (master – Olga Ivanova). AS „Tukuma piens” got the 2-nd place, silver medal, cash prize of 50 Ls and certificate of merit for 2,0% fat milk (master – Agita Vane). AS „Lazdonas piensaimnieks” got the 3-rd place, bronze medal, cash prize of 30 Ls and certificate of merit for 2,5% fat milk (master – Dzidra Zerbina).
